{"id":7,"date":"2010-04-05T05:40:59","date_gmt":"2010-04-05T10:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/?p=3"},"modified":"2025-11-13T15:27:29","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T15:27:29","slug":"a-summary-of-beginning-to-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/a-summary-of-beginning-to-now\/","title":{"rendered":"A Summary Of Beginning-To-Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the first post of the <strong>Uptime Robot Blog<\/strong> and hi to everyone :).<\/p>\n<p>Since the launch of the project (20 Jan 2010), we worked hard to make the system better and there has been several updates to it:<\/p>\n<h3>New Features:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Keyword checking (ability to check if a keyword exists or not in a webpage)<\/li>\n<li>RSS alerts (get the alerts via RSS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Improvements:<\/h3>\n<p>This is the biggest part that we have worked on.<\/p>\n<p>We weren&#8217;t expecting such an interest on <strong>Uptime Robot<\/strong> as the system had <strong>few hundred users just in the first day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We made a major update on the engine so that it can scale better. Now, it has an impressive performance.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the database and the website now runs on different machines, so, <strong>if the website goes off, monitoring still continues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>What&#8217;s Upcoming?<\/h3>\n<p>We will have some exciting new feature announcements this week and Twitter accepted <strong>Uptime Robot<\/strong>&#8216;s whitelisting request which means <strong>we can integrate Twitter as an alerting option now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Other than that, we got requests for an iPhone application and &#8220;offers for help from iPhone app. developers&#8221;. This is one of the priorities.<\/p>\n<p>There are more in our roadmap which will be popping our regularly.
