Set up back-in-stock alerts using UptimeRobot!<\/h2>\n

UptimeRobot.com<\/a> is a globally known service used for monitoring websites, servers, and other services. One of the monitor types, keyword monitoring, is the one you could use as an inventory checker. You can set it up for free and it will monitor websites like Amazon and notify you when the item you\u2019re looking for is back in stock.<\/p>\n

Keyword monitor from UptimeRobot is searching for a specific keyword in the HTML source of the website. This is an important part, but we\u2019ll show you how to set it up correctly and get that product you want so much!<\/p>\n

How to set up a keyword monitor for in-stock alerts?<\/h2>\n

As mentioned above, the first and most important task is to choose the keyword you\u2019ll be monitoring on the website. It could be a simple phrase like \u201cout of stock\u201d. Using this phrase, you can set your monitor to alert you when these keywords are not present on the website – meaning the item is back in stock.<\/p>\n

How to choose the keyword from the HTML source?<\/h3>\n

1. Open the product page. In our example, we\u2019ll be monitoring the availability of PlayStation 5 directly on their official website.\"\"<\/a>
\n2. Right-click on the page and choose the option \u201cView page source<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

3. Now you\u2019re looking at the HTML source<\/strong> code of the website. You don\u2019t have to be a developer to set up UptimeRobot stock monitoring.<\/p>\n

Just make sure the keyword you see on the website is here too, as in some cases it can be generated dynamically by JavaScript after the page load. Therefore, it won\u2019t be in the page source and we won\u2019t be able to find it.
\nYou can also use the search function by pressing the CTRL (Command) + F at the same time. The keyword you\u2019ll be entering in the monitor soon is case insensitive<\/strong>.\"\"<\/a>You can set it up in a few minutes using our new mobile app<\/a>, or simply set up \u201cback in stock\u201d notifications from your account at UptimeRobot.com.<\/p>\n

Web App<\/span><\/h3>\n

1. Just log in and click on the big green \u201cAdd New Monitor<\/strong>\u201d button in the upper left corner.<\/p>\n

2. Choose the \u201cKeyword<\/strong>\u201d type and enter the URL and keyword.<\/p>\n

3. In our example, where we want to receive alerts when the PlayStation is available (out of stock keyword is removed), we choose the \u201cAlert when<\/strong> > Keyword Not Exists<\/strong>\u201d option.<\/p>\n

4. With a Free plan<\/a>, you\u2019ll be checking the availability every 5 minutes. If you\u2019d like to increase your chances to get the product you want, you can set up 1-minute monitoring intervals<\/strong> using the PRO plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5. Make sure you have attached alert contacts to notify on the right side.<\/p>\n

6. Click on \u201cCreate Monitor<\/strong>\u201d and that\u2019s it! You\u2019ll be notified when the item inventory \u201cOut of Stock<\/strong><\/em>\u201d status changes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Mobile App<\/h3>\n

1. After you open the app, tap the \u201c+<\/strong>\u201d in the upper right corner.<\/p>\n

2. Choose the \u201cKeyword<\/strong>\u201d type and enter all details like the item URL, a name to easily identify your monitor and the keyword \u201cout of stock<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

3. Keep the settings on \u201cKeyword should – be present<\/strong>\u201d and set your intervals.<\/p>\n

4. Click on \u201cCreate monitor<\/strong>\u201d and that\u2019s it!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Set up SMS messages or calls to increase your chances<\/h2>\n

You can receive notifications using one of the integrations<\/a> available in any plan. It\u2019s easy to miss an email though. To increase your chances of getting the item you want we recommend setting up SMS or Call alerts. These can be purchased separately and be used for the Free plan too.<\/p>\n

There are two ways to buy them. Also, make sure to create and attach the alert contact to your monitors (steps included).<\/p>\n

Using your account at UptimeRobot.com<\/h3>\n

1. Log in to your account at UptimeRobot.com.<\/p>\n

2. Under \u201cAccount profile<\/strong>\u201d click on the \u201cWant to add more?<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n

3. Choose the number of SMS\/Call credits you wish to buy.Note: 1 notification = 1 SMS (or voice-call). SMS will be sent for every status change once, if not set differently.<\/em><\/p>\n

4. Choose the payment method (Credit card or PayPal).<\/p>\n

5.Enter all details and finish the payment process.<\/p>\n

Creating and attaching the alert contact<\/h4>\n

1. When logged in to your account, click on the green \u201cAdd Alert Contact<\/strong>\u201d button found under \u201cMy Settings<\/strong>\u201d – \u201cAlert contacts<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

2. Choose the \u201cPro SMS<\/strong>\u201d or \u201cVoice Call<\/strong>\u201d type.<\/p>\n

3. Enter all details including the correct format of your number without the +XX prefix<\/strong> as that\u2019s already included when choosing the country.<\/p>\n

4. You\u2019ll receive an activation code<\/strong> via SMS or a call depending on the chosen type. Click on the \u201cpadlock<\/strong>\u201d icon next to the alert contact and enter the code.<\/p>\n

5. To attach the alert contact to your monitor so you can actually receive the alerts, click on the \u201ccogwheel<\/strong>\u201d button next to your monitor.<\/p>\n

6. Click on \u201cedit<\/strong>\u201d and select the SMS\/Call alert contact on the right side:

Using UptimeRobot mobile app<\/h3>\n

1. Open the app and click on the \u201chamburger\u201d menu in the upper left corner.<\/p>\n

2. Choose \u201cAlerts & Contacts<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cBuy SMS \/ Call credits<\/strong>\u201d.\"\"<\/a>
\n3. Choose the number of credits you wish to buy and tap on \u201cNext step: Payment<\/strong>\u201d.

4. Finish the payment easily depending on the OS you\u2019re using (iOS or Android).<\/p>\n

Creating and attaching the alert contact<\/h4>\n

1. Visit the \u201cAlerts & Contacts<\/strong>\u201d page again and tap on \u201cAlert contacts<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

2. Tap on the \u201c+<\/strong>\u201d icon in the upper right corner and enter all details.<\/p>\n

3. After you click on the \u201cCreate contact<\/strong>\u201d button you\u2019ll see the option to enter the activation code you\u2019ll receive immediately.<\/p>\n

Important message!<\/h2>\n

Even though thousands of users were already able to use our keyword monitoring to get a hard-to-get item like PS5 <\/em><\/strong>or the latest 3090 GTX graphic card<\/strong><\/em>, we noticed some websites are preventing our requests.<\/p>\n

If your monitor results in a \u201cConnection Timeout<\/strong>\u201d status and stays that way, it\u2019s possible our IPs are blocked somewhere on the way.<\/p>\n

Some websites have some kind of ReCaptcha prevention that our bot can\u2019t get around. You can try and play with longer monitoring intervals, in this case, it might help. Unfortunately, there\u2019s nothing we can do on our end to fix this.<\/p>\n
