It&#8217;s been a while since the <a href=\"https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/uptimerobot-august-2021-update\/\">last update post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But don&#8217;t worry, it&#8217;s not because we were lazy. We&#8217;ve just been really busy preparing new, interesting things. Let&#8217;s take a closer look at them.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Incidents with detailed root causes<\/h2>\n<p>Incidents are among the biggest things we have introduced in the last couple of months. The main goal is to make it easier to understand what happened to your monitor. So, instead of countless &#8220;events&#8221; (up, down, paused&#8230;), we now primarily focus on &#8220;incidents&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/incident.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1001\" src=\"https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/incident.png\" alt=\"Detial of an incident\" width=\"976\" height=\"1035\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/incident.png 976w, https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/incident-283x300.png 283w, https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/incident-966x1024.png 966w, https:\/\/uptimerobot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/incident-768x814.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 976px) 100vw, 976px\" \/><\/a>An incident is basically a report about why your website is\/was down. In this report, you will find details about what happened, like:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;human-readable&#8221; cause: SSL certificate error, network error, the domain was not found&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>what servers have detected the incident<\/li>\n<li>start date and duration<\/li>\n<li>HTTP code of a response<\/li>\n<li>Request that was made &#8211; URL, HTTP method, and request headers.<\/li>\n<li>Full response preview HTML &#8211; if we were able to get some<\/li>\n<li>Response headers<\/li>\n<li>Traceroute &#8211; when there is no response and for ping monitors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that&#8217;s not all. Domain not found as an incident reason<\/h2>\n<p>When developing &#8220;incidents&#8221;, we have added a new &#8220;down reason&#8221; &#8211; Domain not found.<\/p>\n<p>You may see this incident when your domain has expired, the domain is not registered yet, or when you made a typo in the domain name. To put it simply &#8211; anytime we can&#8217;t reach the website because of the wrong DNS record.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Optimizing our infrastructure<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;ve made a lot of work on our service&#8217;s stability and performance in order to improve the quality of UptimeRobot.<\/p>\n<p>It is something that is not as easy to spot as new features, but still an important thing.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Improved up \/ down email alerts<\/h2>\n<p>And now, one of the biggest things. So, we have decided to improve these emails and make them more readable with all the important information included.
