Need Only the Down or Up Notifications? You are Covered!

Uptime Robot sends notifications for down and up notifications by default for each alert contact type.

However, there can be cases where you may only need the down or up notifications like:

  • minimizing the SMS use
  • handling only the up or down events via web-hooks
  • getting only the SSL expiry notifications but ignoring up/down events

There is now an option inside the new/edit alert contact dialog where we can choose to disable down or up notifications for a given alert contact.

Simple..but it can be powerful :).

Great Fonction , Thanks to to continue to improve the solution which looks better and better.

What about a 1 day repetition for down notification ?
Sometime it would be very usefull for non critical notification that I missed ;)

So good to hear that.

1-day repetition is a feature which we want to add, yet, we need to make few structural changes before that. It is on our to-do-list but not scheduled for now.

What about dependent notifications. For example if the core router goes down. We don't need to know that all the devices behind it are down too. So if you can't connect to a device check to see if it's dependent device is online.

What exactly Up Notifications mean? Do we get notified when our server is Up?

Frantisek - Product owner Jun 17, 2022 at 7:02 am

Yep, you can set up it this way, if you want. Of you can receive notification only when the website goes down, without up notification. It is completely up to you.
