UptimeRobot Retrospective & Plans: Thank You for 2023 and Happy New Year!

Hi everyone.

As we stand at the threshold of 2024, on behalf of our CEO, Michal Aftanas, and the entire UptimeRobot team, I’d like to thank you for your never-ending support. Thank you for being part of our journey over the last 12 months!

It was an amazing ride full of great news (and more to come), so I’d like to take this opportunity to summarize our year together and give a peek at our plans for 2024.

We’ve not only grown as a product, but also as a company and a dedicated team of talented individuals that are happy to help you with your monitoring needs.

Before we dive into our year together, we wish you all the best in the year ahead, may it be full of growth, success, health, and flourishing relationships.

Here’s to a prosperous New Year for us all! 🎉

2023 wrapped

You, our loyal users, are part of an impressive community consisting of 2,306,643 members!

Together, we’re overseeing 7,999,157 monitors, of which 6,389,305 are HTTP/S monitors, followed by ping and keyword monitors.

The most frequently used 3rd party integration was Slack. However, email emerged as the preferred method for receiving notifications, closely followed by our Android and iOS push notifications.

Together we’ve published 30 different posts on our blog – these three interested you the most:

New features summary

We strive for continuous improvements every year and 2023 was no different.

Here are the most notable updates we’ve brought:

New BETA web app

There’s still a lot of work to be done, but we’ve finally brought the long-awaited update to our user interface. We’ll continue to bring our new BETA web app to perfection in the year 2024.

We’ve completely redesigned the dashboard, along with improvements and additions inspired by your feedback.

FYI: You can help shape the future of UptimeRobot by sharing ideas and voting for them on our Nolt board.

Domain monitoring

Don’t let your domains slip and accidentally expire by setting up notifications 14, 7, 3, and 1 day in advance.

Domain monitoring is included as part of our HTTP/S monitoring, similar to SSL errors and expiry monitoring.

Admin and notify-only users

Share and manage access to your account on the Team page. In addition to write and read-only permissions, we’ve added admin access and the option to add notify-only users who can’t log in but can receive email, SMS and voice call alerts.

Don’t follow redirects

Enable the “follow redirects” feature under the advanced options of your HTTP/S monitor and detect 301 (or any other) redirects.

30 sec. monitoring interval

Are you looking for even more precise monitoring for your important services? 2023 made it happen! Get in touch with us if you’d like to discuss the full potential of your monitoring.

What’s next?

We’ll continue to work on our new web app and even though we like surprising you with new updates, here are some teasers for 2024.

Response time monitoring

As a New Year’s present, we’ll be wrapping up with one of the most requested features: Response Time Monitoring (Slow RT Alerts).

You’ll be able to set a threshold and receive notifications when your website takes longer than usual to respond.

UptimeRobot gives back

We’re already supporting over 50 nonprofit organizations with sponsored monitoring.

Moving forward, we plan to promote this initiative more prominently on our website, making it available to more organizations that contribute to making the world a better place and keep the internet open.

If you’re interested in applying, send us an email and we’ll be more than happy to share all the necessary details with you.

Monitoring infrastructure updates

While we’ve already made significant updates to our infrastructure this year, we believe in the pursuit of continuous improvement to ensure UptimeRobot remains your highly reliable monitoring partner.

We’ll share more details with you when the time is right 😉

For now, we wish you a fantastic start to the new year. See you on Discord or in our next update! 🚀
